I am currently teaching in the US. I am Canadian and went through a interesting route before landing here. I got my teaching license from the US first and then moved to England where I taught at the primary level for 4 years. The reason I ended up with a US license first, simple it was easier to get into their teachers college than Canada. I then applied to VIF and came to first North Carolina and then to Virginia and it has been a struggle all the way. I have basically been placed through teacher recruitment agencies and now am doing the visa paper work for an H1B visa which cost a fortune and takes forever. Research carefully before you pick the states as an alternative. Start by contacting school boards in states that boarder Canada, New York is always good but be warned these schools are urban and tough to teach in.

I am a licensed teacher in the Philippines and have been teaching English (6 years)as well as special kids (3 years) in diverse classroom backgrounds. I am currently seeking a teaching job in any State in the US. I currently am busy putting up a site for English learners as well. Teaching is almost like a hobby than a job for me. If you happen to know how to help me grab any chance to teach in the US, please do not forget to contact me.
